Jan- Feb 2015 Much Needed Update

I apologize for my slothfulness in keeping up wit this blog. We have been very busy trying to take the Church to the next step in its history. The Lord has been so gracious to us and He has allowed us to get a building and a small piece of property. It is a Church building that had been abandoned for many years and the Lord opened the door for us to get it. In October of 2014 we started remodeling the building and the Lord allowed us to have our fist service the first service in November. The Church is now located about eight miles outside of town in a little community called San Antonio.  Many thought that would hurt our attendance but we are still doing okay. Of course we lost a couple of people but they were already on their way out. Since we have moved we gained two families from the community here which have served as source of encouragement. As with any time you try to do something foe the Lord Satan tries to hinder. We have faced some opposition and attacks on us a well as on the Church, but greater His He that is within us than he that is in the world.
The family is doing well, the boys are growing and becoming young men. Nora is dong well as she homeschools  the boys. Please continue to pray for us as we do our part to reach this area with the Gospel. Thanks

Sept-Oct  2013

Greetings Pastor and church family in the name of Christ, I hope all is well for each of you as you labor for our Lord. The work here in Socorro is doing well, we have just finished up knocking on 10,000 doors for the second time since we have arrived here in Socorro. We are having new visitors come almost every service.  Since we started here in Socorro we have knocked on 23,520 doors. After knocking on that many doors in this small community you would think that everybody here knows about the church, but we run into people all the time that doesn’t know about us. We are just going to keep on going, keep on knocking, and keep on inviting until the Lord comes. Lord willing we are going to knock on ten thousand doors again next year starting in the first of May. If you would like to come and see the work and help us saturate this community again it would be a great help to us. Contact us and we discuss some dates that we will be doing this big push to reach our county.

On October 13th we celebrated our one year anniversary and the Lord gave us a wonderful day. We had 65 in attendance with fifteen first time visitors. My Pastor was here with us and he preached and challenged us to go forward. Our church has seemed to have taken that charge very seriously. We have had two families approach me since that service that want to be more involved in the church. These are families that we have been praying for that they would join the church and become workers and laborers in the Lords work. Please help us pray as we go forward this next year at Ridgeview Baptist Church of Socorro, New Mexico that the Lord would develop a mind to work within our church. Many of our new converts were saved out of Catholicism and they have never been taught to work and labor for the cause of Christ. Pray that the Lord would make soldiers for Christ out of these new converts that are just learning how to serve the Lord.

We have seen two more people saved since our last prayer letter, a mother and her daughter called on Christ to save them on a Sunday morning service after I preached on “Where Art Thou” out of the book of Genesis. This makes over twenty professions of faith in the past year that we have been here trying to carry out the work. I praise the Lord for His Goodness and Grace in allowing us to serve Him in a place that is in such great need for the Gospel.

Thank you again for your faithful support and prayers on behalf of our family. We count it a honor to be a part of your missions family, we could not reach the people in Socorro county without your help. May God bless you is our prayer

     May-June Update

Greetings in the name of Christ, I hope all is well for you as you Labor for Christ. The Lord continues to bless the work here in New Mexico. We started the last week of May in an attempt to knock on every door in our county. This will be our second time canvasing the area since we have arrived here. In a month our little church has knocked on 3,500 doors here in Socorro County. I am amazed at the work God is doing in this county. We have had two young people make professions of faith since our last update. We also had a lady that we have been witnessing to for almost five months get saved by the good grace of God. None of this would be possible without the faithful support of God's people. We want to think each and every one of you for your monthly support and prayers.
We have much planned for the coming months in the ministry. we have another 6,500 doors to knock on and we are going to be trying to start a Bible study on the Indian Reservation in an attempt to start a second work here in Socorro County. We have a bus now and we hoping by the end of the year to have a bus ministry up and going. Please pray as we labor here in the desert of New Mexico that the Saviour would be exalted, sinners will be evangelized, and that the saints will be encouraged.

March- April Update

The work here in Socorro has been established a little over seven months now and we are excited about what the Lord is doing here in New Mexico. Since the church has started we have seen fifteen professions of faith in which we praise the Lord for. We are seeing growth in the new converts as we teach them the Word of God. Many of them now are quoting Scriptures and becoming more familiar with their Bibles. We are teaching them the importance of evangelism and reaching the World with  the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. So far this year we have given out approximately 2500 gospel tracts in the community, we have also taken on our first missionary as a church. Some one asked me while we were on deputation if I thought the old time way would work out here in the desert of New Mexico, well I can say with much confidence that the old time way is working even here in the desert. Continue to pray for our family as we labor for God's glory here in the state of New Mexico.

Ministry Update

Greetins in the name of Christ,
It is offical we have started the work here in Socorro,NM and the Lord has blessed in a tremendous way. We had our first service on October the &th of 2012 and we had 67 in attendance. The Lord blessed and we had two professions of faith, praise the Lord. We have been busy here in the community, knocking on doors and doing all we can to reach this county with the Gospel. Since arriving here we have had 13 professions of faith and nine of them are faithful in our church. We average in attendance around 30 for the sunday services and around 25 for the wednesday night service. I am humbled by the fact that the Lord is using our family to be a light in this dark county. We are planning to knock on every door in this county starting the third week of May, please pray that we would see more come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
